Across North Carolina, teens and young adults are finding steady progress through Somethings, a free app funded by DMH/DD/SUS that connects youth with trained mentors. who provide guidance and support. More than 2.1 million conversations have helped young people feel heard, encouraged, and more hopeful. The program reaches teens in rural and underserved communities and offers quick, caring help when it is needed most.
The impact is significant. Teens using Somethings show reductions in suicidal ideation and gains in wellbeing, demonstrating how trusted connections and responsive care can help young people heal and move forward.
