DMH/DD/SUS invests in campaigns, programs, and partnerships that build these environments and ensure real, accessible support.
Peer Respite Centers that provide safe spaces for crisis support like Love &Respect and Promise Resource Network.
Recovery Centers and Residences that support or offer treatment, like New Seasons and Healing Transitions.
The Peer Warmline, a number to call to talk to someone who has had similar experiences. This Dashboard shows its importance through volume and satisfaction rates.
The Connections App is free tool for SUD recovery offering virtual support communities.
NC4Vets is an online support network for veterans.
Our public education campaign, Unshame NC, works to reduce the stigma of seeking treatment as well as providing resources. Some suggestions for joining that mission:
Use person-first language, such as “people with substance use disorders”, rather than stigmatizing language.
Stay informed through DMH/DD/SUS webinars and other learning opportunities.
